Registration Period Extended For Brian Leonard Football Camp in Ewing, New Jersey
St. Louis Rams Fullback to welcome former Rutgers teammate and Baltimore Ravens Running Back Ray Rice as Guest Instructor at upcoming camp

/Football News Articles/ - TOMS RIVER, July 09, 2008 - Young football players who want to learn from NFL pros and improve their fundamental skills can still register for the Brian Leonard Football Camp, to be held from July 16 - 20, 2008.

The camp, which offers overnight and day camp options, will be held at The College of New Jersey, in Ewing, New Jersey and will feature former Rutgers All-American and St. Louis Rams Fullback Brian Leonard. Leonard has announced that he will welcome Rutgers teammate Ray Rice, now a running back with the Baltimore Ravens, to camp as a Guest Instructor.

Registration for the camp has been extended to the opening day of camp on July 16, 2008. Young football players entering grades one through 12 are eligible to participate. The camp will offer non-contact instruction with emphasis on improving each camper's fundamental skills at their positions. Top football coaches from college and high school teams will bring their expertise to the camp to provide outstanding instruction to participants and offer a chance for the players to demonstrate their ability.

Leonard, a three-time All American standout at Rutgers University and a second round NFL draft pick in 2007 by the St. Louis Rams, was one of the most outstanding players in the history of the Scarlet Knights Football Program. He finished his career at Rutgers as the all-time leader in receptions, touchdowns and points by a non-kicker.

Ray Rice was the all-time leading rusher at Rutgers, with 4,926 yards and 49 TD's on 910 carries. He was the first player in the school's 138-year history to rush for over 1,000 yards in three seasons. In 2006, Rice was a consensus All-American second-team choice, adding All-Big East Conference first-team honors. He was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2nd Round of the 2008 draft.

Players interested in registering or getting more information should call Shawn Kennish at (732) 597-3126.
