Joseph Thomas, Jr. Honored for Excellence in Athletics
Owner of The United States American Football All-Stars, Inc.


Wheeling, WV, June 4, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Joseph Thomas, Owner, President and Coach of The United States American Football All-Stars, Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of athletics.

Mr. Thomas specializes in coaching amateur football, consulting, and mentoring 250 athletes from across the United States. He became involved in his profession because of the experience he gained in coaching junior high school youths in Wellsburg, West Virginia, high school youths at Wellsburg,, West Virginia, Wintersville, Ohio youths at Bethany College in Bethany, West Virginia and as a player at Wellsburg High School in Wellsburg, West Virginia, Miami University in Miami, Florida, Weir Riders in Weirton, West Virginia, and the NFL Philadelphia Eagles in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Prior to founding The United States American Football All-Stars, Inc., he worked for 30 years at Weirton Steel Company as a construction pipefitter and served as Secretary/Treasurer and Office Manager of the Independent Steelworkers Union, representing 12,000 hourly working members. A published author, Mr. Thomas authored a book entitled, Reading Writing, Arithmetic and Youth Football. He is very proud of the time he spent coaching youths aged 8 to 13 as the Junior Director at five Bethany College Sports Camps and at Chuck Howley's Sports Camp in Wheeling, West Virginia. He considers his greatest profession accomplishment being inducted into the American Football Association Hall of Fame in 1994.

Mr. Thomas completed coursework at Miami University in 1944 and is a member the National Football League Alumni Association. He is a retired member of the National Football League Players Association and is a supporter of the Kiwanis Club of Wheeling, West Virginia, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and The American Legion. Mr. Thomas is currently working to promote American Rule Football as an Olympic sport.
