Ball State to Debut Interactive Guides at MAC Media Day
Ball State University has engaged 180 Communications to build its first ever digital athletic guides and will unveil the 2009-10 football guide today at the Mid-American Conference Football Media Preview in Detroit, Mich.

TALLAHASSEE, FL, August 01, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ball State University has engaged 180 Communications to build its first ever digital athletic guides and will unveil the 2009-10 football guide today at the Mid-American Conference Football Media Preview in Detroit, Mich.

These guides will replace Ball State's traditional printed media guides.

"When we began looking to revise our guides, we knew we wanted to save money and conserve paper, but we also knew we did not want to provide the media, recruits, fans and others with a basic, PDF version of the printed guide," Joe Hernandez, Ball State associate athletics director, said. "We wanted to improve upon the way our information was delivered."

180's digital guides feature page-flip animation, streaming video, up-to-date statistics and social media tools. The guide is available in both on- and off-line versions, the latter of which will be distributed on customized thumb drives to MAC media day attendees.

"Digital guides are the future," said Don Yaeger, owner of 180. "Why spend 10s of thousands of dollars on a printed guide that will be obsolete after the end of that sport's first game? We are building guides for every Ball State sport at the same price they paid to print last year's football guide alone, and the information inside will constantly be refreshed."
